전화의 일상적 구성 : 1970~80년대 경험을 중심으로
이 연구는 전화가 대중적으로 확산되던 1970~80년대의 일상 경험을 탐색하여 이시기 전화의 사회문화적 특성을 구성하고자 한다. 이를 위해 17명의 구술사 인터뷰와3회의 집단 면접을 수행하였으며, 그들이 들려준 경험을 바탕으로 재구성한 전화의특성은 다음과 같다. 전화가 흔히 구술적이고, 개인적인 매체로 알려져 있는 것과는달리 초기 전화는 기술적인 한계와 부족한 접근성 때문에 용건 중심의 공동체 전화의성격을 띠었다. 그러나 보급이 확산되면서 전화는 점차 사물화되는 경향을 보여주며대화의 내용도 점차 구술적이고 개인적인 내용으로 변화하게 되었다. 또한 이 시기한국의 전화는 기술 시스템의 측면과 소비의 측면에서 모두 성별화의 경향이 나타났으나 서구와는 달리 여성의 전화 소비가 사회적, 국가적으로 제한되기도 하였다.

Telephone in Everyday Life : Focusing on the 1970-80s Experience
This research explores the everyday experiences of the 1970s and 1980s, when telephone was popularized, and aims to construct the socio-cultural characteristics of telephone based on these experiences. To analyze the socio-cultural characteristics of the telephone, 17 oral history interviews and 3 group interviews were conducted. Unlike contemporary telephones that serve as oral and personal media, the early telephone was a message-centric, community telephone due to technical limitations and lack of accessibility. As the telephone became widespread, it gradually showed a tendency to become personal objects, and the conversation content changed to oral and personal. And, during the 1970s and 1980s, Korea's telephone showed gender-specific features with technology systems and consumption. But unlike in the Western case, women's telephone consumption has been limited to social and national levels.
